If anyone crosses the threshold of Kilimanjaro Safaris,
penetrating the area might prove the closest thing to entering
the savannahs of Africa.
The attraction is a popular open-sided
safari ride at the Animal Kingdom theme park on the Walt
Disney World Resort
The attraction is settled on 800 square
miles of open bush country known as the Harambe Reserve.
Here guests are transported into authentic flora and fauna
at best reminiscent of the African grasslands. |

On a liquid propane-powered truck baptized
as Simba, guests are enlightened by a tour guide who points
out all the animals along with providing entertainment.
Reserve Warden Wilson Matua and his guest Miss Catherine
Jobson also keep in consistent radio contact with the driver.
Apparently the two pilots are roaming above the reserve
on their daily routine.
Bongos are likely the first creatures visible.
They usually hide around the first bend. |
Past the watering
hole is the chosen abode of the Black Rhino, while further
right one can find the rare Okapi. Hippos frolic at the
base of cascading waterfalls. The vast savannah gapes later in the tour,
a panoramic setting of giraffes, sable antelopes, Thomson's
gazelles and ostriches. Everywhere are termite mounds that
skyrocket up to 20 feet high.
In the vicinity, there is a huge rock formation
where the Mandrill baboon family lives. The elephants are
only around the next bend. Antiquated baobab trees can also
be found proximate.Buy Kilimanjaro

To other watering holes, pink flamingoes
are known to frequent a tiny island that legend says is
in the form of a "Hidden Mickey". Still in other
watering holes, there are white rhinos wallowing in the
mud.
Hoofed animals are common up among rock
formations. Such include the kudu, scimitar-horned oryx
and the long-horned eland. Cheetahs also stalk the area
up among the rocks. Meanwhile the fields host warthogs.
