guests added that it is “an awe-inspiring tale of
all of Earth's animals and the interconnected nature of
every living thing.”
Twenty artisans together with Disney Imagineers and thousands
of construction workers worked full-time for 18 months to
create a swirling tapestry of gnarled roots, mighty trunk
and sturdy branches. The result – in 1998 - is an
exquisite and staggering spectacle that is truly a sight

The Tree of Life, in its enormity, is visible from many
places in the park. From a distance, The Tree of Life appears
like a normal tree.
Surrounding the Tree of Life are the
Discovery Island Trails - a quiet area of meadows, streams,
flowering glades, waterfalls, pools, trees and lush gardens
that are home to flamingoes, otters, lemurs, axis deer,
iguanas, cranes, storks, sloths, tortoises, macaws, and
red kangaroos.
Entrance to It's Tough to be a Bug theatre
is located at the base of the Tree of Life. |
For a more vivid appreciation, guests are guided to the

At different times during the day, different animals
appear more dramatically clear than the others as the sun
and the shadows move.
It’s been the buzz that guests spot different set
of animals on different occasions. Kids have fun finding
as many animals as they can. Images of fish, birds, snakes,
alligator, animals -- seahorse, deer, rhino, dolphin, monkey,
pelican, and – you would ask for this – the
325th addition, the image of a chimpanzee.
